A DSWD Travel Clearance is a report issued by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to a Filipino kid, age underneath 18 years old, despite their civil status, to leave the Philippines, either with someone they know aside from their parents. Philippine law obliges minor kids who are voyaging abroad without their guardians to get a DSWD Travel Clearance, which is a shield against the trafficking of Filipino kids.
Filipinos dwelling in Australia who are organizing the unaccompanied go of their minor kids from the Philippines to Australia or to any destination outside of the Philippines must secure a DSWD Travel Clearance for these young people. Any Filipino minor who will go outside of the Philippines unaccompanied by his or her guardians, either alone or joined by another grown-up, must have a DSWD Travel Clearance. Philippine port and airplane terminal powers will oblige it.
Requirements for Travel Clearance
- Filled-up application form
- Birth Certificate and passport of the minor applicant (photocopy)
- Parent’s consent, this is to certify that both parents are allowing the child to travel alone or together with someone else
- The child companion’s passport (photocopy)
- Passport Size photos. It must have been taken 6 months from the application
- Marriage contract of the child’s parents
- Parent’s Identification Card
Procedure:
- Go to the Field Office to file your application.
- Secure original copies of documents and prepare the processing fee.
- If approved, the clearance certificate will be issued immediately.
Travel clearance for minors is valid for a year or two and is applicable for multiple travels. Multiple travels are possible only if the condition under the clearance was not changed. Be reminded that if anything has changed regarding the conditions under the specific certificate, like travelling with a different companion, on must obtain another travel clearance.
The processing fee for the travel clearance of minors is only P300 valid for one year and P600 valid for two years.
